Membership Requirements and Dues

If, after two visits, you decide to join us on a regular basis, you would need to first join Loners on Wheels International at $50 for first year and $45 per year thereafter. Then join the OK-A-LoWs at $5 per year. Loners on Wheels publishes a monthly newsletter which, among other things, shows the dates and locations of all the scheduled monthly campouts for the 50+ chapters scattered around the US and Canada. And, you may visit any of those campouts as you travel around the country for no additional cost. The OK-A-LoW also publishes a monthly newsletter after each OK-A-LoW campout.

OK-A-LoW CAMPOUTS

We have monthly campouts from March through November. Our campouts begin on Wednesday before the 3rd Saturday of the month and ending on Sunday. We often camp at COE campgrounds because most of our members have a Golden Age or America the Beautiful Pass which allows us to camp at federal campgrounds, like COE, for half price. Click on the Link above for USGS, to find out more about the Pass. Of course, we sometimes camp at private campgrounds, especially during July and August so we can get an air conditioned room for meals and games. Our campouts are listed on the LoW website, and several times a year in their Monthly Newsletter. Some driving instructions are shown with the campouts, but you can also click on the Link above for Google Map to get directions from where you live to the campouts.

History of Loners on Wheels

Loners On Wheels was founded in 1969 by a lady named Edith Lane. She had a vision that single people could camp and travel together in RVs and have the camaraderie that can be missing when we try to fit in with married couples. Loners On Wheels has aproximately 2000 members and there are about 50 chapters scattered around the US and Canada.

Famous Quotes

"You don't stop having fun when you get old. You get old when you stop having fun." (Unknown)

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a thoroughly worn out body, grinning from ear to ear and screaming...WHOO-HOO, what a ride!" ( Semper Fi)
